VERTICAL to have a 90-metre high neighbour
Two residential tower blocks being developed in Sloterdijk will contain around 156 rented apartments for middle incomes, 180 student flats and 78 nonsubsidized rented homes.
The Municipality of Amsterdam has announced that VERTICAL is to be joined by two residential tower blocks of 90 and 40 metres high respectively at Orlyplein. The tower blocks will contain around 156 rented apartments for middle incomes, 180 non-self-contained student flats and 78 nonsubsidized rented homes. There will also be space for a range of amenities aimed at the neighbourhood and its residents.
The development site (Plot O, blocks 5 and 10) is located around the green station square of Sloterdijk, Orlyplein, adjacent to the Hemboog railway line. The plan consists of two towers: one 90 metres high (block 5) and one 40 metres high (block 10). The apartments for middle incomes will be located in the high tower. The 180 non-self-contained student flats will be developed in cooperation with Woonstichting De Key.
